Lock style tray and carton formers

A.E Randles tray and carton formers have been tested and true for over 40 years. They have logged millions of hours of production in some of the toughest work environments. With more than 1,500 formers manufactured, an A.E. Randles machine is the way to go for top loading applications because of design simplicity, reliability, and pricing.

Machine operation—Lock Style

Carton blanks are loaded into the hopper of the forming machine. A mechanical vacuum arm then takes one carton blank at a time from the hopper and shuttles it forward on the main deck. The carton blank is registered and a plunger forces the carton blank into the cavity of the deck, folding the side panels up at 90 degrees. Underneath the deck, mechanical cam actions lock the tabs into place, finishing the forming operation. The carton is then released onto at discharge conveyor, where it is taken away.

Machine operation—Glue Style Tray and Carton Formers

Carton blanks are loaded into the hopper of the forming machine. A mechanical vacuum arm then takes on carton blank at a time from the hopper and shuttles it forward on the main deck. Before the blank reaches register, hot melt glue is applied to the four flaps of the carton. The carton blank is registered and a plunger forces the carton blank into the cavity of the deck, folding the side panels up at 90 degrees and compressing the glue with the corresponding carton flaps. The carton is then released onto a discharge conveyor, where it is taken away.
