company history
Founded by its namesake, Arthur E. Randles, in Redwood City, California in 1957, the company originally engineered and built machinery that formed chipboard egg cartons. The carton itself was patented by Mr. Randles in the late 1950’s. Drawing on his talents as a designer and businessman (dating back to experience constructing and selling T-squares to draftsmen during high school)—Arthur foresaw during the early 1960’s that chipboard’s fatal flaw of leaking when eggs broke, would lead to its eventual replacement. He decided to expand the company’s product line to include general use use cartoning equipment with an emphasis on top load packaging. In the 40 plus years since opening the doors, A.E. Randles Company has built thousands of tray and carton formers, tri-seal carton closers and horizontal- end load cartoners. In 1976, to take advantage of lower business costs, Arthur moved the company to its current location in Tucson.
